Friday 31 August 2018, MacLehose Trail Stage 6 - Kowloon Reservoirs (Tai Po Road) to Shing Mun Reservoir (Tsuen Wan)

Kowloon Reservoirs to Shing Mun Reservoir
The hike will start at Tai Po Road, through the trails at the Kowloon Reservoirs. Then follow Maclehose Trail stage 6 heading north-west to Shing Mun Reservoir, part of stage 6 is the Shing Mun War Relics Trail. Hike will end at Shing Mun Pineapple Dam. Length ~5 km, ~2.5-3 hrs

沿途有九龍四水塘景色(但小心有很多monkeys),另可遠看九龍西/荃灣一帶,及途經戰時古蹟.….

Meeting Time:  9:00 a.m.

Meeting Place:  MTR 太子站 Exit E (concourse level); then take KMB 81 to 石梨貝水塘站

Weather forecast:  mainly cloudy with a few showers, isolated thunder-storms at first, sunny intervals in the afternoon,  T 26-30  H 80-95

Please bring plenty of water, sun gear, rain gear, walking stick, mosquito repellent, snacks etc.

Please check the weather before you leave home tomorrow.  If the rainstorm warning or thunderstorm warning is up by 7:45am, the hike is automatically cancelled.

Friday 24 August 2018, 青龍頭-->圓墩古村(民安隊營地)-->深井

青龍頭-->深井
take KMB or GMB to青龍頭 to start the hike,經部份圓墩郊遊徑圓墩古村(大部份已被拆去古屋已人去樓空,變成博物館及民安隊營地)深井沉殿塘;沿途可遠看大橋、大嶼北、機塲 ...
7公里 ~2.5小時 最高點海拔242米   (mostly paved road / steps, some sections of uphill / downhill)
 
OPTION:  if weather is not stable, can walk from Tsuen Wan West Rail to Sham Tseng or Tsing Lung Tau along the coast about 6.5km or 8.5km respectively

Meeting Time:  9 a.m.

Meeting Place:  Tsuen Wan West Rail (7-11 at 荃灣碼頭出口)

Weather forecast:  mainly cloudy with a few showers and thunderstorms, sunny intervals in the afternoon,  T 26-31  H 75-95

Friday 17 August 2018 : Lantau Trail Stage 9 (水口 至 石璧水塘)

Lantau Trail Stage 9 水口 石璧水塘
The hiking route this Friday will be Stage 9 of the Lantau Trail which is about 6.5 km, mostly paved track with gentle gradient.  Will start from Shui Hau Village and finish at the Shek Pik Reservoir Dam.   It is estimated that the walk will take 2.5 hours. 

Meeting Time:  9:00 a.m.

Meeting Place:  Tung Chung MTR Exit B  (will take bus to the starting point)

Weather forecast:  mainly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunder storms,  T 27-30  H 75-95

Please bring plenty of water, sun gear, rain gear, walking stick, mosquito repellent, snacks etc.

Friday 10 August 2018, Ma On Shan to Fo Tan along seaside promenade

 Ma On Shan to Fo Tan – leisure walk along seaside promenade
The promenade is level and paved, we will start from Ma On Shan MTR Station, walk through 馬鞍山廣塲 ,   go down to street level at 鞍駿街 .   walk toward 鞍超街   where start of the Ma On Shan Promenade is located (also the 烏溪沙   camp is nearby).  Before starting the promenade walk, we can follow the track on the seaward side of the camp going down to the beach and pier.  
After visiting the beach and pier, make a return on the same track and start the walk along the promenade towards Sha Tin.  On the way, can see at distance the Plover Clove Dam, Science Park, Chinese University; also passby a lot of residential building estates, and pass under a few highway bridges.  
After some 6 km walk along the promenade, we will reach 沙田第一城,from the promenade level walk up to the footpath of 火炭路   and cross Shing Mun River.  Then walk to 體育學院  entrance (along the west river side), where there is a long footbridge cross the highway going to Fo Tan Station.

Will take about 3.5 hr; can have lunch at Fo Tan 稻香訓練學院.

Friday 3 August 2018, Tseung Kwan O to HKUST hiking trail

HKUST to Tseung Kwan O hiking trail
A trail mainly stone paved, we will start from Hang Hau MTR Station (Tseung Kwan O), walk to the trail entrance opposite Hang Hau Village, go up lots of steps to the top of 鴨仔山, then come down steps to Clear Water Bay Road, walk through the HKUST campus to the main gate.  ~3 km long, elevation to ~200m.

Have nice views of: 舊邵氏片場、清水灣片場、牛尾海、將軍澳等等; will take about 2.5 hours.

Meeting Time:  9:00 a.m.

Meeting Place:  Hang Hau Station Exit A

Weather forecast:  sunny periods and a few showers, very hot during the day,  T 28-33  H 70-95
