Friday 29 June 2018: Lung Mun Country Trail

Dear Fridayhikers

The Lung Mun Country Trail goes from Chuen Lung (川龍)   to Shing Mun Reservoir Pineapple Dam.  It is  about 8 km. 

We will start from the Pineapple Dam, walk up to the Lung Mun Country Trail.  Keep going west and at the end of the trail we should reach Chuen Lung village and come out to 荃錦公路. There we can either take the minibus or KMB 51 back to Tsuen Wan. 

Hopefully we will meet the LaiChee group for lunch.

Meeting time:  9:00 am

Meeting place:  MTR Tsuen Wan Station Exit B (we will then walk to the minibus stop)

Weather forecast:  hot and sunny, with isolated showers,  T 28-33  H 65-90

Please bring enough water, sun gear, rain gear, walking stick, mosquito repellent, snacks etc.

Please check the weather before you leave home tomorrow.  If the rainstorm warning or thunderstorm warning is up by 8 am, the hike is automatically cancelled.

Friday 22 June 2018: HK Trail Section 7 - To Dei Wan to Tai Tam

To Dei Wan to Tai Tam

We will take Section 7 of the Hong Kong Trail - start off at To Dei Wan, walk along the catchment footpaths facing Tai Tam Bay to Tai Tam Road.  This route is about 7.5 km.

Meeting Time:  9 a.m.

Meeting Place:  No. 9 Bus stop at Shaukeiwan bus terminal

Weather forecast:  hot and sunny, with isolated showers,  T 28-32  H 65-90

Please bring plenty of water, sun gear, rain gear, walking stick, mosquito repellent, snacks etc.

Friday 15 June 2018, Tsing Yi Nature Trail

Hiking Date:  15 Jun 2018, Friday

Weather forecast:  mainly cloudy with sunny intervals, T 27-31, H 75-95%.

Hiking Route:  Tsing Yi Nature Trail is a pleasant and shady hiking route about 4 km, less than 3 hours walk.

Meeting Time:  9:15 am

Meeting Place:  Tsing Yi MTR, Exit A (will take bus 248M to Cheung Wang Village near our starting point)

Please bring plenty of water, hats, umbrellas, mosquito repellent, walking sticks, some snacks etc.

Friday 1 June 2018 :  Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve

We will go to Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve this Friday. From the meeting place, we will walk through the nearby housing estate, cross the Road and walk up some steps to reach the Nature Trail.  Possibly we will cover some parts of the 4 Nature Trails.  Then we will walk back to Tai Po Market for lunch.

Please bring mosquito repellent, rain gear, and walking stick.
