April 27th: Shing Mun Reservoir

The Fridayhikers are a group of friends who go hiking for leisure. Depending on the weather and road conditions, the hiking route may be subject to change without prior notice. Participants joining the hikes do so at their own will and at their own risk. They may consider buying their own insurance for better protection. The hike leaders, the organizers and any other participants in the hikes are exonerated from any liabilities and claims as a result of any accidents or losses arising.

Dear Fridayhikers,

Tomorrow's weather will be overcast with a chance of rain.  We will take the Shing Mun walk around the reservoir.  If it gets rainy, we can walk on the cement road.  Estimated time will be around 3 hours.


Meeting time:  9:00 am

Meeting place:  Exit B  Tsuen Wan MTR station


We will walk to the minibus stop for the minibus to Pineapple Dam. 

Bring rain gear, sun protection, and walking stick and plenty of water.

Should the thunderstorm warning or any of the rainstorm warning signal be hoistered at 8 am, the hike is automatically cancelled.

April 20th: Mount Parker road to Braemar Hill or Tai Tam Reservoir

Dear Fridayhikers,

Tomorrow's forecast is cloudy with showers.  We will try to stay on paved roads.  The route starts at Mount Parker Road and walks up to Dai Fung Au.  We can turn towards Braemar Hill and exit there or we can walk to Tai Tam Reservoir.  Either way will take about 3+ hours.


Meeting place:  Mount Parker Road on King's Road.  This is midway between two MTR stations (Quarry Bay and Taikoo)


Meeting time:  9:15 am we will begin walking.

Bring plenty of water, rain gear, sun protection.

Hiking is automatically cancelled should the thunderstorm warning or any of the rainstorm warnings is hoistered at 8 am.  Please check weather before venturing out.

April 13th: Tai Tan Country Trail

The hike leaders, the organizers and any other participants in the hikes are exonerated from any liabilities and claims as a result of any accidents or losses arising.

Dear Fridayhikers,

The Tai Tan Country Trail is chosen for this Friday.  It is a 7 km trail from Tai Tan to Hoi Ha.

At a place called 爐仔石, there is a detour trail up the hill for those who want to go up for the view.  If not, the entire trail does not go far beyond 100 m in height and is relatively level but it is not paved. 

The trail has exposed parts so please bring sun gear, rain gear, windbreaker, walking stick, plenty of water and snacks.

The forecast is for possible morning showers but it will be hot in the day time reaching 30 degre
Meeting time:  Before 9 am when the bus No. 94 departs. 

Meeting place:  Bus Terminal No. 94 Sai Kung


We will walk in to the start of the trail from Pak Tam Road.

6 Apr 2018 Chuen Lung to Shing Mun

Hiking Date: 6 Apr 2018, friday

Weather Forecast: cloudy, visibility low, a few showers, T 18-27C, H 50-95%

Hiking Route: Chuen Lung to Shing Mun

Start from Chuen Lung with a minibus stop nearby, going uphill first and then going downhill towards the Shing Mun Reservoir; less than 8 km, then fridayhikers can decide whether to go round the Shing Mun Reservoir (more than 4hrs) rather than to hike for only a short distance of the reservoir.

Meeting Time: 9am

Meeting Place: Tsuen Wan MTR, exit B, then to take Minibus to Chuen Lung.

Reminder: Please bring plenty of water, some snack, walking stick, hats and umbrellas, mosquito repellent.
