Hiking Date: 1 Sep 2017, Friday

Weather forecast: T 28-32C, H 75-95%, East to northeast force 4.
                             Sunny intervals and a few showers.

Hiking Route: Lantau Island, Keung Shan Trail羗山郊遊徑, C1316-C1311,
                        then part of Lantau Trail鳳凰徑 L050-L055 to Tai O;
                         2.5km+2.5km=5km;
                        lunch at Tai O 東方小祗園.
                        Both trails are shady. We would like to thank Michael
                        who will kindly lead the way.

Meeting Time: 9am

Meeting Place: Tung Chung MTR, exit B to walk to Bus Stop 11.
                         (龍仔站下車)

Reminder: please bring plenty of water, hats and umbrellas, hiking stick,
                   mosquito repellent, some snags etc.

2017 Aug 25, Friday: Tsing Yi Nature Trail

Hiking Date: 25 Aug 2017, Friday

Weather forecast: cloudy with occasional showers, T 28-31, H 75-95%.

Hiking Route: Tsing Yi Nature Trail (20th Anniversary of the establishment
                                      of the HKSAR)-
                                     This is a new hiking route for fridayhikers.
                                     (3.95km; less than 3 hours walk.)
                                     (Michael's friend considers this hiking route as easy, pleasant
                                      and shady.)
                       
Meeting Time: 9am
Meeting Place: Tsing Yi MTR, exit A, take bus 248M to Cheung Wang Village
                                        near our starting point.


Reminder: Please bring plenty of water, hats, umbrellas, mosquito repellent, walking sticks, some snacks etc.

18 Aug 2017, Fri Shing Mun Reservoir

Weather forecast: 28-33 degrees, H 65-90, mainly fine and very hot apart from isolated showers.

Hiking Route: Shing Mun Reservoir, round the reservoir walk.

Meeting Time: 9am

Meeting Place: Tsuen Wan MTR, exit B

(sorry that I would not be able to come hiking on 18 Aug; the Shing Mun Reservoir walk is a familiar summer hiking route that any fridayhiker can lead the way.)

August 11th : Lantau Trail Section 10 東涌道 至水口

The Fridayhikers are a group of friends who go hiking for leisure. Depending on the weather and road conditions, the hiking route may be subject to change without prior notice. Participants joining the hikes do so at their own will and at their own risk. They may consider buying their own insurance for better protection. The hike leaders, the organizers and any other participants in the hikes are exonerated from any liabilities and claims as a result of any accidents or losses arising.


The hiking route for Friday will be Section 10 of the Lantau Trail which is 6.5 km, and mostly walking along the catchwater.  The starting point will be at Distace Post L113.  L100 Shui Hau Wan will be the finishing point.  It is estimated that the walk will take 2.5 hours.

Meeting Time:  9 am

Meeting Place:  Tung Chung MTR Exit B  (will be taking a bus to starting point)


Please bring plenty of water, snacks, rain gear and sun shade.   Michael will be leading the way.


Please note the Fridayhikers' hike will be officially cancelled should the thunderstorm or any of the heavy rainstorm signals is up.  Hikers who opt to continue will be hiking at their own discretion.

1st part:  沿引水道步行  L117-119      1.5 km
2nd part:  有高低起伏的梯級和茂盛的樹林    L120-122    1.5km 到達貝澳嶼南道

Meeting time:  9 am
Meeting Place:  Tung Chung MTR Exit B  (to take bus to Tung Chung Road)
