Dear Fridayhikers,
To welcome 2017, we will celebrate by going to Sam Ah Tsuen from Wu Gau Teng, and we will have a nice lunch at 福利茶室. I have called and said about twenty of us will be going for lunch. I will call again to confirm the menu and the number of people with Mr. Tsang. As before, he will decide the menu according to what is fresh from the sea that day. I will request for 泥鯭粥,雞,芋頭扣肉,赤蠔 (subject to availability as this is rare), 大量青菜,薑蛋炒飯,芋頭蕃薯糖水 in addition to whatever seafood is available that day.
We will start the 2+ hour hike from Wu Gau Teng taking the lower road, and after lunch we will return to Wu Gau Teng taking the upper road. The path is not particularly demanding and the scenery is beautiful.
For those who are taking public transport, please note that the minibus 20R (Special) to Wu Gau Teng departs from Tai Po KCR Station at 9:10 am. Be there early and queue up. This is the only available minibus to Wu Gau Teng.
In case you are unable to get on this minibus because it is full, please take the minibus 20C to Tai Mei Tuk. This runs every 5 to 10 minutes. Leave a message on WHATAPPS to say that you are going to Tai Mei Tuk so that someone with a car will pick you up.
It will be much appreciated if drivers with available seats can first assemble at Tai Mei Tuk Carpark at around 9:30 am to see if there is a need to pick up passengers from Tai Mei Tuk to Wu Gau Teng. We will communicate over whatsapps that morning.
The minibus from Wu Gau Teng to Tai Po Station is at 5:15 pm. If we get there earlier, it will be appreciated if drivers can make an extra run to take hikers to Tai Mei Tuk where public transport is available.

Dear Fridayhikers,
As many of our hikers will be enjoying themselves in 清遠, there should be fewer hikers for this Friday. So I've chosen a leisurely walk in the city. We will start from Wanchai Gap Park and walk along Black's Link. Then halfway, we take Section 4 of HK Trail : the Lady Clementi's Ride and walk down to Aberdeen Reservoir Road. From there, we will take a circular walk along the Upper and Lower Aberdeen reservoirs. Estimated time is 3 hours. After the walk, we will take the new MTR South line to Admiralty.
Meeting time: 9:15 am
Meeting place: Wanchai Gap Park (near Police Museum)
Please take Bus No. 15 (every 10 - 15 mins) from Exchange Square, City Hall or Admiralty. For the non seniors, tap your Octopus card again as you get off the bus to get a discount fare.
Please bring enough water, sun gear, rain gear, and wind breaker.
The hike will be automatically cancelled if fewer than three people enrol for the hike.
