Friday 30 November 2018 : 賽西湖公園 到 黄泥涌水塘

賽西湖公園 到 黄泥涌水塘

This is a leisure hiking route about 5.5km and should take ~2hr

(if you wish, can take an extra half hour+ walk from MTR North Point station to meeting place, see below*)

Meeting time:  9:30am

Meeting place:  賽西湖公園入口

(*可由北角書局街步行上 香花徑Aroma Walk   到天后廟道、再經對面梯級上寶馬山道 賽西湖公園入口;  ~1/2hr+ uphill walk on paved path / steps)

Weather Forecast:  sunny periods, visibility relatively low, T20-23 H65-85

Bring rain gear, sun protection, and walking stick and plenty of water.

Should the thunderstorm warning or any of the rainstorm warning be announced at 8 am, the hike is automatically cancelled.

Friday 23 November 2018 : Tsing Yi Natural Trail

Tsing Yi Natural Trail

From the meeting place Tsing Yi MTR Exit A, we will walk along Tsing Yi Promenade to 擔杆山路, then walk up 芳田美徑 to Cheung Wang Village near the Tsing Yi Natural Trail starting point. (this section is about 2.5 km)

Tsing Yi Natural Trail is a pleasant and shady hiking route about 4 km.

(Full length walk about 3+ hours)

Meeting time:  9:15am 

Meeting place:  Tsing Yi MTR, Exit A

Weather Forecast:  cloudy in the morning, mainly fine and dry during the day, T18-23 H55-80

Friday 16 November 2018 : HKU to Aberdeen

HKU to aberdeen

In view of possible rain patches, we will take a route which offers more exit points.  We will start from Hatton Road up Lung Fu Shan Morning Trail.  A quarter of the way, we will take the path to the right which goes to Pokfulam Reservoir.  From the intersection there, we will walk on to Peel Rise which takes us to Aberdeen.   Apart from the initial uphill walk, the route winds around the hill and has a gentle gradient.   The walk takes about  3+ hours.

Meeting time:  9:15am

Meeting place:  HKU  entrance at  Kotewall Road (旭龢道)  (VC Lodge 校長宿舍)

[ To go to the meeting place, you may take MTR to HKU station (Exit A) and walk up University Drive to Kotewall Road. ]

Friday 9 November 2018 : 昂坪棧道 (昂坪360救援徑)

昂坪棧道

興建昂坪纜車後，便出現了昂坪棧道(現正式名稱是昂坪360救援徑)，用作緊急救援道路，沿途是梯級、石徑及木板道。在東涌逸東邨出發，經過侯王宮，然後沿東澳古道行不久，便到達昂平棧道起點，慢慢行上山，經過其中一座纜車塔，向上望便看到一架一架的纜車走動，再踏上長長的木板道，全程上山路段需要體力，但可欣賞到逸東邨及香港國際機場、東涌一帶景色，也是值得，最後終點是昂坪市集。(length ~7km, estimated time ~3.5hr, elevation ~450m)  Will then take NLBus back to Tung Chung.

Meeting place:  Tung Chung MTR Station Exit B  (will take NLBus 38 to 逸東邨)

Friday 2 November 2018 : Shing Mun Reservoir

Dear Fridayhikers,

Tomorrow's weather will be windy and cloudy with a chance of occasional showers.  We will take the Shing Mun walk around the reservoir.  If it gets rainy, we can walk on the paved road.  Estimated time will be around 3 hours.

Meeting time:  9:00 am

Meeting place:  Exit B  Tsuen Wan MTR station  

(we will walk to the minibus stop for the minibus to Pineapple Dam.)

Weather Forecast:  mainly cloudy with one or two showers, T21-25 H65-90
