The Fridayhikers are a group of friends who go hiking for leisure. Depending on the weather and road conditions, the hiking route may be subject to change without prior notice. Participants joining the hikes do so at their own will and at their own risk. They may consider buying their own insurance for better protection. The hike leaders, the organizers and any other participants in the hikes are exonerated from any liabilities and claims as a result of any accidents or losses arising.

Tai O – take ferry from Tung Chung to Tai O, hiking around Tai O

Will take ferry from Tung Chung, the ferry journey will pass by the new 港珠澳大橋; then sightseeing and hiking at Tai O and have lunch at 東方小祇園。

Meeting Time:  8:45 a.m.  (ferry departing Tung Chung Development Pier 9:25) 

Meeting Place:  Tung Chung MTR Station Exit B 

Weather forecast:  sunny periods and one or two showers,  T 28-32  H 70-90

Please bring plenty of water, sun gear, rain gear, walking stick, mosquito repellent, snacks etc.

Please check the weather before you leave home tomorrow.  If the rainstorm warning or thunderstorm warning is up by 7:45am, the hike is automatically cancelled.

Friday 20 July 2018, Sai Kung West Country Park (Wan Chai Extension)

Sai Kung West Country Park (Hoi Ha to Wan Chai Extension)

a leisurely walk to the Sai Kung West Country Park (Wan Chai Extension), about 2 hours, near Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park; we plan to visit the west camp site and also the south camp site at the sea shore with lovely sea breezes.

Meeting Time:  8:45 a.m. (mini bus at :55 & :25)

Meeting Place:  No. 7 GMB at Sai Kung minibus terminal

Friday 13 July 2018, HKUST to Tseung Kwan O hiking trail

The hike leaders, the organizers and any other participants in the hikes are exonerated from any liabilities and claims as a result of any accidents or losses arising.

HKUST to Tseung Kwan O hiking trail

A trail mainly stone paved, we will start from HKUST, walk to the trail entrance at Clear Water Bay Road, go up lots of steps to the top of鴨仔山, then come down steps to Tseung Kwan O, either to 坑口 or 寶琳, ~3 km long, elevation to ~200m.

Have nice views of: 舊邵氏片場、清水灣片場、牛尾海、將軍澳等等; will take about 2.5 hours.

Meeting Time:  9:00 a.m.

Meeting Place:  HKUST North Gate  (Bus/GMB Stops at the Gate)

Weather forecast:  mainly cloudy with showers and a few squally thunderstorms,  T 26-30  H 80-95

Please bring plenty of water, sun gear, rain gear, walking stick, mosquito repellent, snacks etc.

Please check the weather before you leave home tomorrow.  If the rainstorm warning or thunderstorm warning is up by 7:45 am, the hike is automatically cancelled.
