Dear Fridayhikers,
Friday will be another hot hot day. Please bring sunshade and plenty of water and as far as possible, walk in the shade. Heatstroke is serious. The Shing Mun Reservoir walk is chosen as it is level and not so physically demanding. However it is long and needs about three hours. If it is too hot, you may consider walking an hour and then doubling back.
There are two detours which I am supposed to lead you to, but I cannot come this Friday as I am down with flu. Please try to find them yourselves. Neither has signs. The first one is perpendicular to the road we take, so look out for an opening to your right. It is a little path which goes down a little and you will find yourself in a spot with trees with large roots extending to the water.
The second one is easy to miss. It is also on the right, and the opening is almost parallel to the road you are walking on. It is unmistakably a path with mud steps. Go all the way down and follow the path. It will take you to a large opening with tall eucalyptus trees and you may find people fishing.
Have fun hunting for the paths !
Meeting time: 9 am
Meeting place: Exit B Tsuen Wan MTR station
If the thunderstorm signal or any of the heavy rainstorm signals are up by 8 am., the hike is automatically cancelled.

Dear Fridayhikers,
We will stay in the city again for our walk on Friday. As the weather forecast is for some showers and overcast weather, we will stay mainly on paved roads. We will start from Wanchai Gap, walk down the Aberdeen Reservoir Road to Lady Clementi's ride, then take this trail to Middle Gap and then to Black's Link, coming out to Wong Nei Chong Gap Road. The book says the most demanding is a fifteen minutes climb on an unshaded road at Middle Gap. The route is 7.5 km and the book says it takes 2 hours. If tomorrow is humid and hot, we can take it slowly.
Meeting time: 9:15 am
Meeting place: Wanchai Gap Park
Take bus #15 and get off at Police Museum. Tap your octopus card again when getting off to get section fare.
Please bring plenty of water, sun shade, rain gear.
If the heavy rainstorm signal or the thunderstorm signal is up at 8 am, the hike is automatically cancelled.
